Canaan's United Methodist Women (UMW) is a “community whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.” All the women of the church are welcome! There are two CIRCLES -- the CIRCLE OF CHRISTIAN SERVICE that meets the first Wednesday of each month and the CIRCLE OF FRIENDS that meets the second Wednesday of each month. The UMW’s main focus is support of mission activities both locally and globally through various fundraising projects. These projects are coordinated at our monthly meetings. In addition, there is a program presented by a member of the CIRCLE or an invited guest. Each meeting also provides a time where we can get to know one another and fellowship in a casual atmosphere.
